Denmark’s first high speed railway is currently being build between Copenhagen and Ringsted and will handle up to 250 km/h for passenger trains. The existing line that runs from Copenhagen to Ringsted via Roskilde is one of Denmark’s busiest and most important routes. It is used by commuters between Copenhagen and the rest of Zealand as well as for nationwide and international passenger and freight traffic.
The current line has become a bottleneck when working at full capacity. The new track will result in a significantly improved timetable with more departures, shorter travel time and fewer delays. As Denmark’s first high speed rail line it will contribute significantly to meeting the transport requirements of the future.
Part of this large-scale project is a 512m composite bridge, where Doka Denmark will support the construction company with products and services. The contract has been signed, planning is ongoing – the project will run from August 2015 to May 2016. The contractor CG Jensen took the decision to work with Doka based on the competence of CC-Bridges and the fitting SL-1 tunnel-solution along with several standard bridges with Staxo 100. This part of project started in August 2014 and will be finalized in August 2015.
